Internships (Unpaid):

Are you a future Band Manager, Record Company Exec, Entertainment Lawyer, Music Agent, A&R rep. or just someone who loves music? Want an internship that’s fun, exciting and gives you actual hands on experience that introduces you to the music industry? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then an AARC internship is for you. We have a number of internships for college and law school students. The internships are available year round on an open application period. Check out our internships below. LEGAL INTERN POSITION

Legal Intern’s Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Executive Director/General Counsel
  • Participate in Copyright Office administrative trials and proceedings;
  • Draft legal documents to be filed with the US Copyright Office,
  • other US government agencies, courts and foreign government entities;
  • Draft and editing contract language;
  • Identify and procuring domestic and foreign royalties;
  • Research domestic and foreign laws related to copyrights; and
  • Intellectual property issues, such as taxes and contracts.

 

 

Minimum Time Requirement:

15- 20 hours per week

Educational Requirement:

Must have completed first year of law school


COLLEGE INTERN POSITION

College Intern’s Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Director and Deputy Director of Royalties:
  • Help maintain Royalty Distribution System with use of industry resources, internet, and direct contact with Artists Managers and/or Record Labels;
  • Assist with mailings to members, including multi-million dollar distributions;
  • Respond to phone and email inquiries regarding AARC;
  • Help recruit new members with the use of media, magazines, news articles and upcoming talent;
  • Maintain confidential artist information filing system;
  • Research compilation/album information;
  • Contact artist and copyright owner representatives regarding membership information and recruiting; and
  • Minimal administrative duties.

Minimum Time Requirement:

12 hours per week

Educational Requirement:

Must have completed first year of college
